Our Team

Joe Hahs

Owner

Joe Hahs, a native of Bloomington, Minnesota, began his construction career at a young age, installing siding at just 12 years old. He graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 2000 with a degree in Sales and Marketing Operations. Initially working for American Express Financial Advisors, Joe soon found his true passion in the construction industry. In 2003, he founded Evergreen Construction Company, which has become a trusted local contractor in Minnesota.

Antti Laaksonen

Vice President of Production

Antti, originally from Finland, has called Minnesota home for the past 25 years. He first arrived in the USA in 1993 to play college hockey in Denver, which led to an impressive 8-year career in the NHL. After retiring from professional hockey in 2010, Antti settled permanently in Minnesota. For the past 6 years, he has been contributing his expertise at Evergreen Construction, serving in Project Lead and Production roles. In his free time, Antti enjoys outdoor activities, watching sports, and spending time with his family.

Connor Derig

Sales Manager

Connor is originally from Boise, ID, but has lived in Minneapolis for the past four years. Before working at Evergreen he spent eight years in the Army and 5 years working in the residential solar industry. In his free time Connor enjoys golfing and spending time with his wife and pets.

Jen Silgen

Bookkeeper

Jen has worked part time in the accounting department for Evergreen Construction since 2019. Outside of work she keeps busy maintaining a home life with 4 grown kids and a husband of 28 years which includes attending many hockey, soccer & baseball games as a super fan! Jen enjoys spending as much time as possible with her family & friends and in any extra time fits in some reading, scrapbooking and cardmaking.

Kritika Shah

Marketing/Office Manager

Kritika was born and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal, and has been living in Minnesota for the past eight years. She has been an integral part of Evergreen Construction for the past five years, contributing her expertise across multiple roles. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and watching movies.

Mary Emmen

Human Resource Manager

Mary has been with Evergreen for approximately two years. She has over 30 years of experience in Human Resources in a variety of industries, and loves working with growth companies like Evergreen. She is a retired military musician from the MN Army National Guard, and plays in the Star of the North Community Band along with some of her fellow retirees. In her free time, Mary also enjoys kayaking, riding her Harley, and gardening.
